1. Introduction

Welcome to Owl Be Reading, our online children’s reading club. By joining as a member, accessing our book reviews, downloadable packs, or participating in our community, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before using our services.

2. Membership and Accounts

1. Membership is open to all. Children under 13 must have parental or guardian consent.

2. Members are responsible for keeping their login details secure and should not share them with others.

3. Any fraudulent or unauthorised use of another person’s account may result in suspension or termination.

3. Membership Fees and Payments

1. Access to certain features, including our downloadable digital packs, may require a paid membership.

2. Membership fees will be clearly displayed at the point of purchase and are billed according to the plan you choose.

3. Payments are processed securely via our chosen payment provider.

4. All payments are non-refundable, including in cases of early cancellation, as our packs and digital resources are classed as digital assets delivered instantly.

5. You may cancel your membership at any time, but cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

4. Community Guidelines

To maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe environment, all members must follow these rules:

Respectful Interaction

1. Treat all members kindly and respectfully. Bullying, hate speech, harassment, or discrimination will not be tolerated.

2. Discussions should remain civil, even when opinions differ.

Content Sharing

1. Shared content must be appropriate for all ages. Do not post explicit, offensive, or illegal material.

2. Respect copyright laws when posting excerpts, reviews, or other material.

Book Discussions & Reviews

1. Honest and constructive contributions are welcome.

2. Please mark spoilers clearly to avoid spoiling stories for others.

Safety and Privacy

1. Do not share personal details (addresses, phone numbers, school information) in public spaces.

2. Respect the privacy of others and do not share private conversations without consent.

No Spam or Self-Promotion

1. Self-promotion of any kind is not permitted.

2. Spamming, repetitive posting, or irrelevant content is prohibited.

5. Copyright and Intellectual Property

1. All materials created and provided by Owl Be Reading, including but not limited to digital packs, worksheets, activities, book reviews, audio or video content, illustrations, and written resources (collectively, “Club Content”), are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

2. Membership grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Club Content strictly for private, non-commercial purposes within your household.

3. You must not:

   • Copy, reproduce, or distribute Club Content to anyone outside your household.

   • Upload or share Club Content on third-party websites, forums, or social media.

   • Sell, resell, rent, or otherwise exploit Club Content for commercial purposes.

   • Create derivative works or “clone” our packs, resources, or activities.

4. Any commercial use of Club Content requires our prior written consent.

5. We reserve the right to take legal or other appropriate action against individuals or organisations who infringe on these rights.

6. Content Ownership and Moderation

1. You retain ownership of any original content you create and share within Owl Be Reading.

2. By posting content, you grant Owl Be Reading a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, distribute, and use that content within the club, and a commercial licence to use it for business promotion, marketing, and other related business activities.

3. The moderation team reserves the right to edit or remove content that breaches these Terms, and to suspend or ban accounts where necessary.

7. Liability and Disclaimer

1. Owl Be Reading is not responsible for the accuracy of user-generated content.

2. While we aim to provide uninterrupted access, we cannot guarantee that the website or digital services will always be available.

3. Educational resources are provided in good faith, but parents/guardians are responsible for supervising children’s use of the site.

8. Amendments

1. We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

2. Any changes will be posted on this page.

3. Continued use of Owl Be Reading after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
