Owl Be Reading – Community Rules 🦉
Welcome to the Owl Be Reading community – a cosy corner where imaginations take flight and young readers are always welcome. To keep our club safe, kind, and full of wonder, we ask that all members – big and small – follow these simple rules:
1. Be Kind and Respectful
Treat others the way you’d like to be treated. Whether you’re chatting, sharing a book review, or joining in on a challenge, kindness always comes first. Differences of opinion are fine – unkindness is not.
2. Keep It Safe
Never share personal information such as your full name, address, phone number, school, or passwords.
If you’re unsure about something, ask a trusted adult for help.
Parents and guardians should supervise younger children while using the site.
3. Parental Consent for Children Under 13
If you’re under 13 and would like to sign up to Owl Be Reading, you’ll need your parent or guardian’s email address so they can see what you receive and help you stay safe online.
4. No Bullying or Mean Comments
We’re all here to enjoy stories, make friends, and learn together.
Bullying, teasing, harassment, or making others feel unwelcome will not be allowed.
Respect goes a long way – let’s lift each other up.
5. Share Thoughtfully
You’re welcome to share book reviews, drawings, or ideas – but make sure they’re your own work.
Everything shared must be suitable for a family-friendly audience.
Respect copyright: don’t copy or repost work that isn’t yours.
6. No Spam or Self-Promotion
Self-promotion, advertising, or posting links to external products, services, or websites is not permitted.
Spam, repetitive posts, or irrelevant content will be removed.
7. Have Fun and Explore Books!
Reading should feel magical. Join events, try new genres, ask questions, and recommend your favourites. The more you explore, the more exciting the journey becomes.
📚 Owl Be Reading is a nest of creativity and curiosity. Together we can keep it bright, brave, and brilliant. ❤️
